Fujifilm Instax Mini 8

When I was a kid, I loved to play around with my mom's cameras. It was always so fun looking through the little viewfinder, trying to get the perfect shot, and then going to the store to get a roll of 35mm film developed. Sure, I took some not so great shots - hey, I was just a kid - but I displayed my photos proudly in my photo albums.

Mom also had Polaroid instant camera, and although I don't think I used it a lot, I do remember my Hello Kitty Polaroid camera, which you can find on eBay! Mine might actually still be at my parents' house, just where I left it 15 years ago!

After years of digital photography, and now "iPhoneography", film seems like such a blast from the past, but it's still so fun!

Fujifilm has had their line of instant cameras out for a while now, and I'm finally on board. I know. I'm a few years behind...

My AWESOME mama gifted me with a beautiful "tile blue" Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 recently, and I'm in love!
Stores like Urban Outfitters, Target, Walmart, and Michael's sell these cameras in a range of colors, but I've noticed Michael's and Amazon usually have the best prices.

Film is another thing, though... the film for the Instax Mini 8 isn't exactly affordable - about $.80-$1.00 per picture. You can buy multipacks on Amazon, which I'd highly recommend.

It's such a simple, basic camera, which has it's ups and downs, but the novelty of an instant camera just brings back so many memories, which I guess is why I love it so much. I can't wait to start taking more photos with my camera, so be on the lookout for more posts about it and some fun photo ideas!

Do you have an instant camera? What color?? What color would you get if you're planning on getting one?

And be sure to check out my friend Jenny's post, "20 ways to use Instax photos"! When I first read her post, I didn't have my camera yet, so it definitely made me add it to my wish list! Now I can't wait to try some fun projects with my photos!

Until next time!
